Raju Punjabi, a well-known Haryanvi singer, aged 40, has passed away at a private hospital in Hisar. He had been undergoing treatment for jaundice for several days before his unfortunate demise, as reported by ANI.
During the course of his treatment, Raju initially showed signs of improvement, leading to his discharge from the hospital. However, his condition subsequently deteriorated, necessitating his readmission. The final rites for the singer are scheduled to be held in his hometown of Rawatsar, Rajasthan.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar expressed his condolences, describing Raju Punjabi’s passing as an “irreplaceable loss” to the Haryana music industry. He shared on social media (formerly Twitter) that he had received the sorrowful news of the renowned Haryanvi singer and music producer’s demise. He conveyed his belief that Raju’s departure represents a significant setback for the Haryana music landscape. He offered his prayers for the departed soul to find eternal peace and for strength to be granted to the grieving family. He concluded his message with “Om Shanti.” This post left a deep impact on Raju’s fans, with one expressing, “A dark day for the Haryana industry, a loss that may never be compensated,” and another writing, “”Diamond of Haryana”… Rest in peace, legend.” Another user stated, “A profound tragedy in the world of music, the king of melodies Har Dil Aziz, our beloved brother Raju Punjabi ji has bid farewell to the world.” One user’s comment read, “Very sad news. Renowned Haryanvi singer #RajuPunjabi ji is no longer with us today. Raju Punjabi, a father of three young children, held a special place in the entire Haryanvi industry.” Numerous social media users expressed their condolences.
In the wake of his passing, many fellow singers gathered in Hisar to pay their final respects. Raju’s last song was “Aapse Milke Yaara Humko Accha Laga Tha.”
Raju Punjabi had carved a niche in the Haryanvi music industry, delivering hits like “Desi Desi,” “Aacha Lage Se,” “Tu Cheez Lajawab,” “Bhang Mere Yaara Ne,” “Last Peg,” and more.
